How can I increase my maximum running speed?

Hi. My name is Bejoy and i was wondering if there was anyway that i could increase my maximum running speed. For my age i run really fast but i am only the second fastest on my track team. School is going to start in one more month. I was hoping somebody could give me a good workout routine that is quick and effective seeing that I have very little time left. I am willing to do whatever it takes as long as it will take a month or less and with natural running and not any pills or ankle weights. So if anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Increasing your leg strength will help, but you don’t want to “bulk” up. Two or three days a week, sprint uphill (find a nice steep hill about 50-100 meters long). Do this in intervals. Run up the hill, walk down, and run up the hill again 4 more times. Take a short break (maybe 2 minutes) and then do 5 more. This will build up your leg muscles, so sprinting on the track will seem easier. You need to practice your start too. Try staying low coming out of the blocks. Your start can decrease your sprint time a great deal.
